I think that the son would only be liable for the debts if they were also in his name. Otherwise, the debt would go to their estate when they pass. I can't find any information to the contrary for CT.

The son and his wife also haven't been seen for a week. His house was searched yesterday. Media is reporting that he was married but can't find anything on CT Post about marriage or engagement announcements. Nothing on Facebook either...
