Gosh - I really thought Maddie would be found fairly quickly - based on the circumstances....or that SOMETHING would have been found to lead to an arrest (locating crime scene, video evidence, etc). It SEEMED blatantly obvious who was responsible (not many variables that have surfaced).

Do you mean it makes more sense for the wording to be: DM stated that she did not recognize the male? I agree the wording is either clumsy or intentional.

Yeah - he was the most honorable person I know....no way could he devote his life fighting crime and then defend a criminal. It's so inappropriate....but going from cop to attorney is different from going from one TYPE of attorney to another TYPE of attorney.
Please understand that my comment has NOTHING to do with WHO the local killer is...nor am I saying it's in ANY way related.....I just feel like it's a HUGE conflict of interest.
My dad was a cop for 25 years (Chicago)...and went on to become an attorney. He would NEVER have touched anything...
There are cases where LE asks for cheek swab DNA from everyone interviewed who is known to have been in a residence (ie. party/25-30 people attended and interviewed)...of course one can refuse the request. I hope/wish LE here have done that.

I think each family has to do what's right for them...period. Unless we've walked in their shoes...I don't think it's fair to be critical. Would it be ok to criticize E's, X's and M's parents for not speaking up more? I don't think that's fair either
I agree that I hope they get a "good one".....but I believe SG has a pretty good "BS" meter.....and wouldn't be taken advantage of for long. He ISN'T going to rest until he has answers and I commend him for that.

And in the first 24-36 hours, when her own sister found the food truck video, FBI was not yet "running" things. Her parents were told that certain people were "cleared" within hours. Now that we're staring down a MONTH going by.....of course they're making waves and asking questions...
