I agree that that's what it might be, but have some questions.
When you're talking about a hand-held radio, do you mean a walkie-talkie? I've sometimes used a walkie-talkie while hiking, either to help keep a group together or to communicate with another nearby hiker.
As people have mentioned...
I agree that the note is almost certainly a hoax by a warped opportunist. While mostly I hope Nancy can be found and the perps prosecuted, I also hope that LE can catch this opportunist, if only to make them stop from sending cruel and pointless demands.

This and your other posts are an excellent linguistic analysis of the bitcoin letters sent to TMZ. I only hope the FBI also has such abilities. Of course, it would be even better if they can electronically trace the actual poster.

It would be great if the FBI had some way to track who's posting or sending these bitcoin demands to TMZ. If, as seems likely, the person has no connection to the kidnappers and no real information, I hope that they can be prosecuted for this cruel hoax. Or at least, that any further...
I think the point is that a headlamp is generally brighter than a bite light and that it may be harder to turn it on and off, especially if you are wearing bulky gloves.
Some headlamps come with different levels of illumination as well as with the option of a red light. But one often has to...
Oh. Okay. In that case, maybe there was no elaborate ventilation scheme, but instead a need to easily get in and out near that gate near the casita and the garage. It's possible that the door with the screen door & regular door was either already unlocked or was easiest to break into.
Still...
Thanks for the clarification and the helpful photos! In your earlier post, you said that AB's source said that the doors that were propped open were "the back door(s) to the left under the patio roof, in between the back door by the garage, and the back door to the far right under the patio...
Another possible reason for ventilation -- if the perp(s) had a distinctive or recognizable odor, such as body odor, cologne, marijuana, or booze. That said, I think many people with body odor, who use too much cologne, etc., are unaware of their own odor.
Another situation in which someone...
Thanks. That's a lot of doors. I indicated the doors on Nin's possible floor plan. (I think I know where the gate between casita and the fenced-in area near the garage, but am less certain, so I didn't put that on the floor plan.)
Especially if the window in NG's bedroom was also open, that...
Different posts here say different doors were propped open. Can you post the source that says that both doors at the same doorway were propped open? Does it say which doorway that was?
Thanks. Are we certain that those are the doors that were propped open with flower pots -- the screen door to the patio and the back gate? Is there a source for that? I may have missed it.
In Brian Entin's video, facing the back of the house looks like the screen door is on the left side of the...
Good point. But does NG's room have a window, or just a sliding patio door? Even if it had both, might they have been concerned that opening those things would make a sound that might alert the neighbors? (I have sliding windows and patio doors which make a grating/scraping sound when opened.)...
As far as I know, one can see in the video of lantana man (with the backpack) that the blood was not on the porch yet. So assuming that video was from that night, it would seem likely that the blood was from then too.
JMO
Do we know that he (or they) were in the home for 40 minutes? Am I correct in thinking that's the approximate time from when Lantana Man removed the camera to the time when NG's pacemaker went too far from her phone?
On the one hand, I tend to think another perp was already in the house when...
