I think that your family has been very fortunate...which is a good thing!
One thing some people don't realize is that you can actually spread the flu once you've contracted it - even when you still appear healthy.
As you noted, vaccination has been a major force in eliminating infectious...
As a fellow Londoner myself, welcome to Websleuths! You will soon get used to the terminology here, but to answer your question, LE = Law Enforcement.
I joined back when Tori Stafford was missing, and -despite the tragedies that bring us together here - have found this to be a great community.
When I was on the pill (at age 19), I developed blood clots in my leg. It required three weeks of hospitalization and a year of blood thinning treatment.
I know my reaction is unusual, but I could have died if the problem was not caught in time.
I support the pill being OTC, I just hope...

In the written statement, Arlene Holmes says that is when she responded with, Yes, you have the right person, referring to herself. Arlene Holmes said the reporter asked for a comment about...
In the case of the man who murdered my family-member, I was the first witness on the stand in his trial. I was not allowed in the court until after my testimony; but afterwards, I was allowed to attend the rest of the trial with the expressed permission of the Defense and the Crown who agreed to...
I mentioned this back a few pages ago, but if thunder continues to be a problem for Romi, I highly recommend the "thunder shirt". It is a little pricey (about $35-40), but the calming effect it has on my sensitive dog is just amazing. He loves his shirt and would gladly wear it all day and night...
I think attachment is a lot like tape. It's really sticky the first time you use it, but the next time, not quite so much, and the time after that, it is much harder to get it to stick.
I think dear Romi is stuck to you. He may stick to the next kind person who might adopt him, but I don't...
If thunderstorms are a problem for dear little T/S, you might want to try the "Thunder Shirt". You can buy them in pet stores or order them online - just need the measurements of your dog.
We have a very timid Boston Terrier who was terrified of thunder. He used to shiver and try to hide...
Awww! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I've got tears in my eyes (again). I'm going to take my critters to bed now and remind myself how lucky we all are to have each other.
Just read this and got a chill...last night, when I was posting to you on this thread, I thought to myself "the dog's name is Toby". Then I scrolled to see what his name was before Sebastian (Elvis). I have no idea where that thought came from, as I love the name you've chosen. (insert twilight...
I don't have any experience with rescued dogs, but I wonder if there is any chance that he might be less hyper-vigilant if there was a crate for him to sleep in (as this might be what he knows?). Perhaps with the door open?
You obviously know dogs much better than I do, but my thinking is...
Oh, the poor little guy. I am so glad to hear that you are taking him in and helping to mend his trust.
I always feel better after a sleep. It sounds like he is hyper-vigilant, a very common side effect of trauma.
Please keep the updates coming. You have my prayers for his progress.
