Speak to any criminal lawyer and ask them whether you should ever freely agree to be interviewed by police or answer any questions. Take it from me, any lawyer worth their salt will advice you against it. What do you think the reason for that is? Even if you are innocent, there is nothing to be...

I never said anything about anyone taking bribes<modsnip> All I said was that I wouldn't trust police and that I was disappointed to see photographers at the scene which suggests that they were tipped off about a pending arrest. This action can contaminate a potential jury pool. Just look at...

Looks to me to be a classic bully dressed in their black suits.

The concerning thing about this thread is the amount of people who are willing to take the police as being above all suspicion. I for one have two lawyer relatives who have told me countless times to never trust police. In high profile cases, when the pressure is more intense to get a...

I'd prefer the police worry about the forensics rather than worrying about whether VS will cooperate or not. As it stands, under Australian law no-one will be forced to be a witness against themselves. Putting aside the case and just speaking about law, there is absolutely no benefit for...

I think this theory is a bit outlandish. I think the more likely scenario is that a dire recession caused the family to up and move as has been happening for many years all around the world.

I don't think there is anything remarkable about moving back to Australia. Afterall, the accused was born in Tasmania and obviously, that means he is an Australian citizen. Many European countries have entered long recessions and the Netherlands wasnt spared in that regard. It isn't...

Let's be frank, anyone in his position shouldn't be speaking to police at all. As is his right. I'd rather see good forensic work bring the killer to justice beyond responsible doubt. The thing that is puzzling, is as of yet, there is no indication of a struggle at the school. If for...

A very strange case. Although, it should be said, this man has a presumption of innocence. Obviously, the case will hinge on a forensic examination of the man's car and any other evidence. Hard to understand a motive other than this was purely an opportunistic crime.

Aaron is clearly innocent. People have to remember that country town police stations are not normally open 24 hours of the day. When she didnt meet him for dinner, he can hardly do too much until the police station opens up the next day.

I remember a cleaner at a university I used to study at. You could tell he had a rough life and the hours they have to work aren't the best. But in saying that, your profession and its relative social status doesnt correlate to how capable you are of being a murderer. The most likely situation...
