It would definitely be a factor at trial. I do wonder whether his social media presence was erased between arrest and police presser with the help of a lawyer though to make sure the press only had his "heroic" act to run with. It just seems so thorough.

Okay, that's wonderful conceptually but maybe not an entirely appropriate sentiment to throw at people who are still in the midst of processing something that happened very close to home for many of us.

I just can't get over what a genuinely pathetic loser the perpetrator turned out to be. Tess doesn't deserve to have her name linked to this guy's forever and I look forward to the day I remember hers but forget his completely.

I think the thing is that his behaviour was appalling, but for the most part unfortunately not far enough outside the range of what is considered "acceptable" from awkward young men to ring alarm bells. I know we've (particularly dudes) got a lot of work to do on changing that.

Yes! I won't name anything specific, but I keep seeing reports of wildly inappropriate behaviour that was, and still is, just being written off or seen as no big deal. Especially if someone is crossing the line into making unwanted physical contact or inappropriate sexual comments, I don't...

I really think this is some pretty wild speculation and can't imagine what it's based on at this point. Trans people are far more likely to become the victims of violence when they come out to someone than they are to perpetrate it.

While it's very much besides the point right now, one of my face projections actually wasn't completely off the mark. This was the one where I set the age slider on the program the lowest. Most of the time I left it around the 25-30 age range. I never would have guessed at this guy being 21...

Without a motive, it may just be the charge they feel they can best defend in court. But the detective did say he felt the charge was accurate.

Notice that police stopped pleading for assistance very early on, around mid-December, and allowed the images to lapse from their website without putting them back up. I think they knew who he was by then based off tips from the photos but obviously couldn't come out and tell people to stop...

To me at least, this guy looks like an entirely different racial background and build.
