They had lived in the townhouse together for a time. It was full of junk. It was a mess when the friend let the police in. Having recently seen the husband in person, I do not believe he could have transferred a body from one place to another without help.

The police were let into the townhouse early on by a friend of Anna's who offered them a key. They didn't do a search at that time. They thought she was a suicide or runaway and didn't really try.
