Absolutely true, Mama. I personally do not know how one could sleep at night after spending all day helping a murderer go unpunished. But I know that greed and ambition are great motivators, and many people will abandon their moral compass when they see a flash of green or an opportunity to get...
Amen to that, Pua. Apo should've been reined in from the start. I believe he's the primary reason this trial went on so long, he objected to damn near everything and put up the most ridiculous arguments. He wasted tons of time and this should not have been allowed, IMO.

Regrettably, I think you're right: This could well be someone who's got a grudge against the MPD, someone who wants to sock it to the system somehow, and/or someone feeling sympathy for a guy "trapped" with a pregnancy.
I didn't know Charli, and I don't know her family, but I have shed real...
Ugh. I suspected there was at least one juror who was siding with the defense, based on the occasional jury questions during the trial. Now I know it's true. I am trying not to get too emotional about this, but I can't help but feel outrage toward the person/s who can't see the plain truth of...
Interesting that a juror would ask that question now, after how hostile the defense has been toward the prosecution's witnesses.

I don't think anyone planned on this trial taking so long. Maybe back when it started, November seemed like a long time in the future. At the rate this is going, it could take a lot longer. I sure hope it's wrapped up by the end of the year, but I'm not holding my breath.

I dabble a bit in science, and speaking for myself only, sometimes all the pieces just don't fit. (I think OJ Simpson's lawyer got him acquitted based on that argument.) I agree it's frustrating, especially as I am a stickler for making sense of everything. I personally am not getting wrapped up...
Amen, Maisiebelle! Medical professionals are taught to "look at the patient, not just the monitors". That's because it's tempting to put your faith in the machines monitoring vital signs and not check the actual patient, who might be doing differently than what the monitors say. I think the same...
I agree, PT. The latest testimony with all of the inconclusive DNA results has probably thoroughly confused the jury and thrown doubt on SC's culpability. I don't believe there was an accomplice. In the simplest terms, this was an evil murder perpetrated by an insane and desperate man. It was...
I agree that he thought he'd have more time to get rid of the evidence. I believe he had no idea about Charli's phone app, and he must have been horrified when all of a sudden people started talking about that last ping at Paraquats. He barely managed to get rid of (most of) the body, and hadn't...
Well, if SC went to all the trouble of finding and transporting a stinking dead pig to provide an explanation for the decomp stench, he's dumb as a post to leave behind Charli's clothing, blanket, DVD, etc., as proof that she/her body was there.

I have lived in Makawao for over 25 years, and I have seen wild pigs all over this island. Loo may have thought it was unusual to see a pig at Paraquats, but I don't, especially in that part of the island where the jungle is thick and wild. I personally think the pig carcass was just a...
