There's no DNA available. They have ruled a few out in the last couple years by dentals. One in PA that looked promising. I talk to one of the investigators on this case regularly.

Who have you talked to with this? I can see if it's been ruled out.

Strange, I was reading up about the DC Phantom Freeway killer, and then came across this...I doubt there's a connection, but one of the victims was found in the next town over, and they've always speculated the killer had some affiliation with a mental institute.

Maryland has a two year back log on DNA cases.

Did a little digging...I don't think he grew up in Frederick, but another county in Maryland. He's named after his father and there's a very long and violent criminal record with the Dad. Didn't get to check the other county for if he has entries there, but found some reckless traffic charges on...

Bump. 27 years yesterday.

I've been looking all over to see what the status of the dna was, and found it here. Not surprised it's not usable. From what I understand, there's two main suspects on this case. The security guard and a high schooler that was obsessed with her. I believe he has since committed suicide...

Maryland has dna laws that are not helping solve any cold cases, and logistics haven't been worked out since the law was passed. See below. Many departments also are only allowed to use state, internal, or Bode for processing dna. Frederick also does not have a cold case unit, which is why...

Othram has been contacted numerous times about this case. Unfortunately, Maryland has passed a very stringent law about the use of forensic familial dna, and has a two year backlog even upload cases (it has to be done by the FBI now). I do know that they do have a trace amount from the steamer...

Virginia Welch and Anne Riggins are the highest contenders for her. One detective really believed Jane Doe is Welch, but until the last two years, no dentals could ever be located on them.
