It's entirely possible he had access to all sorts of tree climbing equipment since he worked for a tree trimming company.

Due to differences in monitor calibration and setup, colors (especially blues/purples) will look different on every single computer. I wouldn't take what you're seeing at face value unless you're a graphic designer and your monitors have been color calibrated. :o
