Found Deceased Canada - Madison Scott, 20, Vanderhoof, BC, 27 May 2011

RCMP need the owner's permission to search his land. If the owner refuses to agree the RCMP can't just blunder on there and start searching. If they have a legit reason they go and get a warrant to go search. (Not sure if "warrant" is the right word but someone will correct if it's wrong)...

A case in my home town took many years to reach a successful conviction because of one single piece of the puzzle. The cops knew 100% who the murderer was, but couldn't bring it to the PF because that "puzzle piece" would've definitely been used by the defence to introduce "reasonable doubt" in...

It will be a mammoth task to efficiently search that big, messy property. The cops will want to do a thorough job and examine every square inch. Aside from the fields and treed areas there are old vehicles, buildings, machinery, junk, compost piles. Probably a place where they bury deceased...

Found Deceased Canada - Madison Scott, 20, Vanderhoof, BC, 27 May 2011

The redditor didn't say who they suspected but .... ya. Why nobody brought it up. I don't know but thoughts from someone who was raised in a small community: 1) A lot goes on behind closed doors in small towns, and never makes it out of those circles until things blow wide open then...

Re a pact of silence. A seeming local on reddit said that multiple people went to the cops immediately to tell them what they knew, and the kids were very frustrated that nothing was done. (Paraphrasing). I took that to mean that the kids expected the suspect(s) to be arrested almost...

Re everyone staying silent: A seeming local on reddit said that multiple people went to the cops immediately to tell them what they knew, and the kids were very frustrated that nothing was done. (Paraphrasing). I took that to mean that the kids expected the suspect(s) to be arrested...

It was a normal bush party filled with normal kids. Various decisions were made by various kids, not knowing the eventual outcome ahead of time. However the circumstances stacked up to create an opportunity ---> sadly someone saw that opportunity to commit a heinous crime and they seized...

From Neowise: "And we still don't hear anything from RCMP, almost 2 weeks of silence now, what's going on......?" RCMP are not obligated to inform the public what they're up to at any given time. They're doing their job, investigating the case and searching for evidence. Interviewing...

Bear in mind the cops will have had a lot more inside info than the peanut gallery but couldn't get permission to search that property so stalled.

Re: So what happened?. I bet they knew from the get go, but knowing isn't enough. Cases can languish for decades because of just one tiny factor (usually unknown to the public). Even if the cops know perfectly well who did it, they can't proceed unless they can PROVE it "within a...

Thank you. Fact : 1. The owner's sons were noted on Maddy's parents' white board as among the last to leave the party. 2. Maddy's body has now been found where they live, which is the last property on a secluded dead end road. RCMP are now doing their job, but it may take a while.

Everyone's different but I don't text/call people in the morning unless there's a specific reason to do so. (Don't want to wake people up). If I was going to front up at their house I would check to see if it was ok, but not if I was driving out to a lake.
