That is very possible.. I would think that any stores she says she visited would have her on camera. I'm sure the investigators would have pulled the tapes to see if the mother's timeline matches.

I mean they are so far out there in the sticks that I would think it would be super quiet and serene. So, a lost child crying I'd think you could hear a long distance away.

Are gators in those lakes or in the immediate area?

I'd guess if all is as reported.... when Mom pulled out of driveway and the child saw her then the child would take off after her. Has there been any mention of which direction the Mom took off towards? Which way down the road did she leave to go to shop? That would be the direction I'd look...
