Are there programs that can detect this type of language pattern when it's used to cover a hidden message? It seems that while the sentences are grammatically correct that they would seem very incongruent in the context of the rest of a message and a complex program could still catch the fact...
I recently found that my university alumni site posted my new address when I moved, even though I did not post it myself. (I'm assuming they did so after receiving a change of address for the alumni magazine via the post office.) I happen to be a registered user so I have my address set to...
This is true, but how many people for whom you have all of that information would you not also be able to find their polling place address? You'd probably know that if you knew their precise birthday and country already, right? I just tried it and it does not work unless you use the precise date...
Adding to my other comments, children who are impoverished often stay inside watching tv/video games and snacking because they don't have a yard to play in or do not live in safe neighborhoods with someone to watch them outside. It just all adds up.
From the Eat This, Not That newsletter I got today:
Eat More Fat, Lose More Weight: http://eatthis.menshealth.com/blog/eat-more-fat-lose-more-weight They mention swapping out some carb calories for my satisfying fat calories, but in healthful foods for which they give a link.
Thanks, Mae. I do think that mgardener was just trying to be helpful. Although, you are correct that there are still many assumptions made about many people who just don't have the resources to buy healthy foods. It's not always one thing, I think, but when you truly have almost no time and...
I might need to clarify that I do not think every overweight child should be taken from their parents; not sure if it sounded that way. I do think more education about nutrition is needed, even for thin people. My grandfather was thin as a rail, but ate tons of fat (he'd eat the pure fat I'd...
I really don't have a "dog in this fight" (as Dr. Phil would say), but I can see why people thought Patsy did it. She was not ruled out for writing the note. Then the issue with the bed wetting and the knife. Or was maybe covering up for her son.
I forgot to add that last night I watched a recent Dr. Phil I had recorded on DVR about childhood obesity. One child they mentioned in the beginning was over 500 pounds as a 14-year-old. There definitely needs to be an intervention, which there was. I think it's good that they now include...
Coincidentally, I was on a JonBenet Ramsey thread yesterday. This is one of the theories about what happened to her. That her mother lost it when JonBenet wet the bed again and hit her hard enough for her to fall and hit her head.
And if you're working two jobs and taking public transportation all over town to pick up your kids and make it home it's much harder to take the time to cook a fresh meal when everyone is hungry "now."
I just read an article in the last few days about the fact that adding nutritional information at restaurants is still not changing what some people eat for the very reason that the cheaper food with more calories and fat is what they will still buy.
Should they take away children from parents who promote poor body images which can lead to anorexia and/or bulimia? I think watching your parents starve themselves or vomit has to be as bad as watching them gorge themselves on food.
I looks the same, but with different pen widths. I have never seen an "e" that looks like that, not even from family members who write in block or semi-block letters.
So, is one from the letter and one from Patsy's sample? I have not followed this much.
