Not sure of the distance between the abandoned vehicle and the bridge but maybe this is where the bad guy parked the day he commited the crime then was afraid to return to vechile leaving it abandoned....maybe walking home or calling a wife or friend for a ride, that would leave LE to believe...

if BG had a cell phone on him at the time wouldn't they be able to find him on a list of cells that pinged in that area that day

I agree, I live about a hour and half north of Delphi but grew up in southern Indiana I heard no accent he sounds local. I also heard " go down the hill"
