    GBC's life in prison

Just came across this little snippet: Mr Field said the Queensland Parole Board did not have a good track record in following directions from supreme court judges on recommendations for release. He said they were notorious for keeping prisoners in longer than their parole terms...

    GBC's life in prison

I would think the Dickies would be advised if/when GBC makes a parole application and could object or raise concerns with it. Victims Register Written submission to the Parole Board If an offender lodges an application for parole, victims registered against the offender will immediately...

    GBC's life in prison

I also noted that one of the considerations the Parole Board takes into account is the sentencing Judges recommendations. Considerations before release In considering an application for release to a parole order the board holds community safety paramount. The Board takes a number of...

    GBC's life in prison

To apply for parole, as Tigerlily75 mentioned above, he will have to admit responsibility for his offence. This info is from the Parole Application Handbook (Prisoners' Legal Service, Inc. - Safe Way Home Program) which gives guidelines for prisoners drafting their Parole Applications (Form...

    GBC's life in prison

I was interested in finding any information on how parole works as, I'm sure like most others on here, I'm not happy at the thought of GBC being able to apply for parole and get out in 13 years (15 years less the approx. 2 years already spent in prison). I've broken this info up into 4 parts...

    GBC's life in prison

So, this was the only info I could find on daily life in prison. https://www.qld.gov.au/law/sentencing-prisons-and-probation/prisons-and-detention-centres/daily-life-in-prison/ Daily life in prison Entering prison When you enter prison, you’ll go through 3 steps: admission...

    GBC's life in prison

Hope this is the correct place to post this? Baden-Clay spent the first night of his sentence at Wolston Correctional Centre, west of Brisbane. The 43-year-old has one month to lodge an appeal the sentence which carries a 15-year non-parole period...

    The Verdict Waiting Room

This is what I think (hope!) too - that the jury has already decided on murder but there is one juror that is not sure whether to go the full mile for 'murder' or whether to 'place it safe' or leave room for some doubt and only go as far as 'manslaughter'. Hope...Hope....Hope....this is the case!

    The Crown v Gerard Baden-Clay, 10th July - Trial Day 18

Thanks Tootsie. Just found where I read that additional questions had been asked - it was actually 2 potential jurors that were further questioned (not one as I mistakenly said). 12:20pm: Two jurors have been cross-examined in relation to their answers to the questionnaire, but both will...

    The Crown v Gerard Baden-Clay, 10th July - Trial Day 18

Didn't they need to ask additional questions with one of the jury members during the jury selection process? (just before they confirmed the jury had been selected).

What do you think the verdict should be??

I still say 'Guilty'! Even more definite after hearing the closing statements from both sides and after hearing the judge's summing up!

    The Crown v Gerard Baden-Clay, 9th July - Trial Day 17

Well....it could just be coincidence....but purple is one of the 2 primary 'scouting' colours (purple & green). http://members.scouts.org.uk/comms_centre/brand_element_colour.php?pageid=2749 It's also the colour of the World Scout Emblem. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Scout_Emblem

GBC Trial General Discussion Thread #3

I believe GBC will be found guilty of 'murder' (not manslaughter) and guilty of 'interfering with a corpse'. SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE No matter how little the Prosecution has said and no matter how much the Defense and GBC in particular say, you can't get away from the 4 pieces of scientific...
