Yes. I just went back to watch some video of the protests in front of their home and the neighbors seemed very convinced it was him and described the direction he went from the house.

This image shows where he was allegedly picked up and dropped off. It is about 20 miles according to Google maps from Jenny Lake. I know they were searching there,too. I may have had those two witnesses confused as to which one influenced the search. It looks like they are searching Grand Teton...

100% agree. IMO, they think he is dead and that's why they called.

They may have corroborated it with phone pings by now. It seems like they found it credible enough to prioritize a search in the area. Jmo

Great points. I agree with all of this. But I am leaning more toward suicide worry than the legal worries at this point.

At this point, I think his parents only reached out to the police because they have reason to believe he has died by suicide. They weren't interested in cooperating at all previously and it is hard to believe that they would be so stupid, under counsel, to lie to LE as a distraction after...

I agree with all you have said. I was just commenting on the philosophy behind not wearing shoes when in nature and how it may fit the persona he was trying to create. It fits with the other aspects of his posts. Didn't say it was safe or a good idea!

Being one with nature, respecting the Earth, feeling a sense of freedom and mindfulness, etc. I don't really see it odd because it is a familiar concept in yoga, some spiritual practices, lovers of nature communities. Yes, that's correct. LE wouldn't publicly share that information, though. But they also wouldn't say that he is missing and could literally be anywhere.

Thank you! It sounds like the family notified the attorney and he communicated to LE on their behalf that they would like to speak to them. Seems consistent with their actions (inactions) thus far.

I don't have Twitter so I can't read that. Does it clarify if that was before or after the parents spoke to LE? I'm guessing it was a joint effort either way as the parents were obviously in contact with this attorney.
