Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I must say I’m uncomfortable with the personal attacks on Sally and Joni. I cannot imagine what it is like to be the daughter of a missing woman and who has been frustrated and cast off by the police. Someone who has lived through an inquest...
I agree the podcast is amateurish and only of interest to the case’s most diehard fans. It shows how difficult a podcast is to produce well, for all the criticism of TLV.
But who or what in the world could properly investigate this crime? Certainly not Australian police! They can’t even...
one more thing on totally different track: knowing Marion's story, listening to Bronwyn's story, AND, listening to the Melanie Read podcast, "The Boy in the Water," I get the feeling that Coroners who rule in favor of more or better investigation are met with resistance from the Police. The...
Nothing important to say. Just an impression I got from listening to the last episode of Sally and Joni's podcast. -- When Marion told Sally she'd be out of touch for a while, that she was going off-line, listening to Sally say this, this time, I had the sense of an obvious conclusion...
Yep, the Al Capone tactic. You can't get them for the real crime, so you go after tax evasion or fraud or coming into Australia illegally. That may be the only answer. At least then you could plea bargain for Marion's whereabouts.
I have no problem with the TLV book or podcast. Whatever raises awareness of the case, imho, is a help. Not everyone hangs on each detail. Not everyone is a sleuth. The more people who know of the case, the better chance of finding important clues. No one at TLV is maliciously misguiding...
@Candytuft I heard today where Sally says that her mother’s super account wasn’t touched in “The Story So Far,” Bonus Episode. I wonder if this ep was recorded first, and if she just assumed the account wasn’t touched. Hope someone else will chime in.
@Candytuft I'm listening to Sally's new podcast and really enjoying it. No big news (yet) but a nice, streamlined revisit of the whole case from Sally's perspective. She is so good at telling the story in a straight line. If I am not misremembering, after the inquest when Sally finally got...
This case has had a lasting effect at least in Santa Fe. Every conversation it seems touches on these deaths, even still. Hantavirus, pet directives, crates, trusts, having community in one’s life. Quite a legacy in positive ways. We crate our dog when we go out. (Separation anxiety and...
bringing up the Santa Fe drug community is a huge stretch given the distance from town of the property, the gated community, and the power of the estate to protect the property until it is cleared. A BS argument imo.
The Santa Fe New Mexican is running an editorial today expressing their opinion and what I tried to say about FOIA earlier in thread. It's behind a paywall but basically the fact that anything gathered, researched or investigated by public servants belongs to the public. Also US Law does not...
Regarding the unclaimed bodies. . . If their wishes were known to be cremated, it seems cremation would have happened. The kids can decide for their dad, but making a decision for BA would fall to whom? A distant relative? The executor/trustee? My stepdad has a notarized document saying he...
To the person who spotted the doll in the video: according to today's Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper, the Hackman's dogtrainer, who was called to the scene to help capture the two dogs, said the Hackmans were "nuts" about their dogs and “There’s toys everywhere around the property.” So that...
I hope someone who knows more than I will explain about FOIA laws. The records of LE can be requested and under law they must produce them since the government works for the People. So it isn’t LE making that call, it’s someone else — unless a judge intervenes. Just wanted to stand up for my NM...
