My first thought when I read that she had a memory card and a USB stick along with her age is that she is a college/university student. I know when I took some college courses here they sold the usb sticks in the library and you could pick one up fairly cheaply.
I hadn't realized that the ages were that far off...and I suppose they estimated the age by how closed the fissures in the head were so it's probably pretty accurate. :(
I knew the age was more than the UID's but I'd seen ages listed before on Doe etc...and when the person was found...
I'm reluctant to post this missing person because of the distance from where she went missing to where this woman was found BUT there are some similarities:

Missing since October 13...
I have a son that is going to be 10 next month and if he disappeared I'd be so frantic with worry I'd barely be able to breathe, let alone go on with a wedding that I had planned.
I just don't understand ANY of it. The mother going on with the wedding, not looking for her daughter until she...
I just saw this posted today on my Facebook page. (From the Doe Network) When I clicked on the link that was given and couldn't access it I thought maybe they'd identified her, and I'm glad to see that that was the case.
I'm very interested in learning the name of this woman and the history...
I remember my great Aunt buying me...I think it was called Blubber...or something really close to that...for my Christmas when I was 14...I took it to school and was reading it and I was ridiculed because it was for younger kids haha...I loved her books so much...I hope she gets better soon!!
To answer the original poster No, I wouldn't leave three very small children alone in a motel room no matter how short of time it was. My son was 14 months before he slept through the night and I would have been very anxious that he would wake up and cry while I was away. He is 8 1/2 years old...
Kudos for thinking outside of the box!! The idea to check where the story was ran to narrow down the search area was brilliant! Sad to think he was almost home when he was killed though. (if indeed someone had called asking about him)
Ambercat you mailed them the information so long ago...wonder when we'll hear if its a match or not...I hope it is. I first saw this case on Unsolved Mysteries and its always stuck with me.
I've been following this case and I'm so shocked that they are still missing. I was hoping at first they'd just biked too far and gotten lost (it happened to me at their age, but I had gotten lost in our small town in Iowa..I luckily saw someone I knew and they let me call my folks and they came...
Extremly embarrassing for him BUT the cops know, you know, and everyone else knows what goes on in those movie theaters. And they are adult only. So...what's the big deal really???
I remember first hearing about Star on Unsolved Mysteries. Star sounded like a good person that got caught up in drugs and then her life quickly spiraled out of control. As for where Star is now...well I guess the most optimistic idea would be that she is alive but too ashamed to contact family...
Read about this today on Dead People Server. He was so handsome with his whole life ahead of him...it's just incredibly sad. My condolences go out to his family.
