Moo... What breed of dog and what age? Some dogs get stressed by traffic or whatever. Some dogs fight the leash. Some dogs have very anxious temperament. Some dogs are reactive. Etc etc

Moo...I believe it is the usual (common) step parent jealousy. Also the adult often thinks the child is competitive and trying to break up the adults relationship.

Where did she usually walk to ? Down to the river, forested area? Or was she headed to a coffee shop or something?...moo

Moo...the landscape is hard pan with dust/sand movable over lay. If the ground was wet, it would hold prints. But when dry it is hard like a dirt road. Gus is light weight. His prints would show in the sand, but you just need the dogs kicking up dust or a breeze, and the fine sand layer will...

Moo....seems he was just squatting on someone's property. Probably had everything he needed there. Shelter, food and water etc. moo

Moo...it is not a path it is just a long pile of rocks. You have to be very sure footed even in the daylight to traverse a breakwater of that type. Not slippery usually, because they are above the water level. Easy to fall, don't know why you would do it a night.....moo
