Although I can’t comment on this case as it’s an open homicide investigation, I can say that it is routine in any investigation to check births, marriages and deaths with vital records. Also keep in mind that the NBC news segment was edited.

I did work on her identification! I’m so happy she’s finally got her name back.

The 9/11 victims family reference sample was used in confirming her identification as there was no living immediate members left to provide a sample. IGG provided the lead of Patricia K. MCGlone.

Also his parents moved to Gun Barrel City, TX and had a home on Cedar Creek Lake from 1985 until recently (his mother passed in Jan 2021 and according to her obituary the family spent a lot of time there). Cold cases definitely during this time period need to be looked into it.

I looked into Barry Whepley's background and his parents obituaries showed that the family were members of the Naperville Country Club and his father was on the board of directors at the club. Also his parents lived even closer to to Julie Hanson at 1108 Sweetbay Court (source DuPage County)...

One last post. Kenneth McConn was a sophmore at Dekalb High School in 1966 and presumably Dennis who was two years older should have been a senior (if he in fact attended the same high school), however he was not present in the yearbook. Kenneth's HS photo attached
