So I was discussing this case yesterday afternoon with a co-worker after I heard him mention that he lives in Oakdale. He actually went to school at the Middle School on Oakdale-Bohemia Road and spent a lot of time hanging out in the woods that Cynthia was last seen walking in to. He told me...
Long shot but I figured I would share it here.
Rodney Alcala was in NYC during 1971 and 1977. Alcala is known to have traveled outside of the city for his "photo shoots". Alcala is also known to have strangled some of his victims. Like I wrote, it's a long shot but it might be something to look...
Found another...
8/16/65 - Gloria Williams - Recovered from the foot of Vanderbilt Ave in Idle Hour.
Vanderbilt Ave is right inside my suspects area. It's right between his home and his place of business.
I've mentioned other people from Oakdale who went missing in the time leading up to Cynthia's disappearance. Here are a few that I've been able to dig out of my records;
6/29/61 - Unnamed "Missing Boy"
1/25/62 - Charles Luther, 15 - He was recovered, no record of what had happened to him...
I'm sure the dog made her feel safer, even today that plot of woods has an eerie energy about it even if it's a lot smaller now than it was when Cynthia went missing.

I do have a company lined up and am aware of their past successes identifying anomalies. I am willing to pay for the initial scan out of pocket. Should the results come back that there is a soil disturbance in the suspected area I would then turn the information over to the local authorities and...
Good morning.
I have been considering approaching the owner of a business in an attempt to gain access to their basement. The building this business is in once served at the storefront and home for the family of a girl who went missing. Within a year of her disappearance the detectives working...
The more I think about it the more questions come rolling in to my head. Things I grew to take as "fact" no longer make sense anymore.
Cynthia taking her dog to "pick wild flowers" makes sense. We know though, through her family and the original police report that she didn't go to pick wild...
Another thing that I have long questioned is why did they use the pictures we've all seen? Surely her family had better photo's of her. The pictures that generally accompany the postings are similar to what you would see from a photo booth. Wouldn't she at least have had a recent school photo?
