The jurisdiction responsible for the case has to take ownership and assign a case number before the profile can be made public in the system. If a case number doesn't exist and the family hasn't refiled the report, it will usually stay pending.

Kind of displays some of the hurdles that can be faced. Emily's profile in the system didn't have DNA. I'm glad the DNA Doe Project was able to help with overcoming that barrier.

I was looking at some mob missing person cases recently since they often aren't in any of the databases since the case is tied up with criminal investigations and a separate missing person report that is needed to publish their case somewhere like NamUs doesn't exist. I wonder if this could be...

So we're looking at someone that most likely spent a sizable chunk of time in either West Virginia, Southern Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, or Alabama but also possibly Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, or Montana.

I've always thought this was Tymon Emily. He was last seen traveling to St. Louis to visit his uncle. His NamUs profile lists his height as 6'-2" which would be too tall but his DOC inmate record in MO lists it as 5'-11".
