That would be ridiculous to suggest everyone in central Texas to move; I'm not sure if you mean me, but I'm not suggesting that at all. I'm just suggesting that don't build cabins and put kids to sleep in the floodway. A lovely spot for sports, an amphitheater, hiking or a picnic. The floodway...
I understand too, camp is a very special place for me (and my child) too. People all across the country enjoy their camps and rivers, but there is nothing magical enough about any specific one that I would risk putting my child to sleep in a floodway.
There are a lot of things that can't be...
I wouldn't send my kids to a camp with cabins in a regulatory floodway knowing this. It's not something I would have thought of before, but I am now. I looked up all the camps in my kids' council on the FEMA site and none of them have cabins even in a Zone A. They have natural water but seemed...
I appreciate the labeled map. Cross referencing it to the flood plains map on FEMA Flood Map Service Center | Search By Address, nearly the whole camp is in flood plains. It's unfathomable to me that it was allowed to be built. One more thing to check before sending my kids anywhere.

I don’t really have any specific examples, but being from the county and the nosy person I am, I’ve seen various hearings delayed “by agreement of parties” a lot and am inclined to believe it means very little.
I agree that doesn’t seem right, but I would guess it probably had more with being different locations. Carroll county, population 20k probably has a lot less manpower and resources then Tippecanoe county, population 195k.
I still don’t buy that he traveled on the creek, at least for long. It’s very rural and would make for a difficult get away. Also cold (it was unseasonably warm that day) and I’m not sure that it would all even be navigable. However — as a local, 25 going right by Delphi is absolutely the route...
Am I the only one that doesn’t find a lock on the basement door alarming? My parents have always had a small lock at the top of the basement door (I think it was there when they bought the house when I was a small child) and I have seen others with them, especially if it’s a full unfinished...
Attempted murder defendant investigated for ties to Delphi murders
"The information has obviously been shared with us, and our investigators are looking into him," Carroll County Sheriff Tobe Leazenby said.
Yes, that is the fountain. It is on the West Lafayette (Purdue University) side of the pedestrian bridge crossing the Wabash River to Lafayette. It’s a nice bridge and pretty popular.
