From the article: "The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences performed the original testing. One lone sperm was identified in swabs collected at the time of Karen Shahan's autopsy and a much greater amount of female epithelial cells in the samples, according to Lamb's filing." ... ""Y-STR...

This video shows the complete transformation from inside the sheriff's office where he doesn't think the cameras are on him to the perp walk outside, clinging on the arm of the guy in the yellow jacket, http://www.abc3340.com/story/24483514/richard-shahan-expected-to-be-released-from-jail...

I don't know that he was intending to live openly with his lover, just that he wanted to marry him. This might be closer....more like wishful thinking than openly planning. "One day I hope to marry you" is vastly different than getting a marriage license. Do any countries in Europe actually...

So let's take this apart based on what we know and compare it to the pastor's version. The Shahans lived in a house that was next to the church and was within walking distance. Karen was supposed to pick up RS's mother for an appointment on Tuesday morning, but she didn't. So far, both...

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that I believe the pastor is probably the one that's correct. Way back in the beginning, there was a lot of misinformation about the way Karen was found. Someone from Hobby Lobby called 911 for a welfare check or went by her house to check on her. Someone...

It sounded to me like one woman from the church went to check on Karen, came back and got several staff members from the church, and then they called the police. Two of the staff members who went into the house that morning turned around and went to Nashville (a little less than 3 hrs from...

Not necessarily. If the motive involves a new romantic interest for RS, there may be new communications (email, texts, etc.) between the two on his phone, computer, etc.

You're probably right. If it's important, LE can ask the funeral home if they wrote it. I would think they would keep something like that in their records for billing purposes at the very least. Still, it's sad that it is so brief.
