Barnham is a starter if he found himself in BM. If he was clear headed enough it would be the first "friendly" location he could get to. Considering the BM ping was 0450 it would not be long before sunrise. I have long suspected that there was mobile phone activity when he was in the Hughes...

I do no think it would as the route takes you away from Thetford. The area between Barnham and Honington is a relative dead zone for mobile phone signal.

Well there is a main road (A134) that takes you almost door to door, cutting across fields would not actually save a great deal of time in this instance.

Any Rock Apes on here care to suggest what the likely outcome of an intra-corps affair would be? I know how it was dealt with at Colchester, unless you were 3PARA Mortars that it.

He hasn't hypothetically committed a civilian offence, so what would the arrest warrant be for? Known address being the base, on which civilian police have no jurisdiction.

Getting plastered would probably be top of my list if I was going to attempt said act! Also with the puppy it is more to do with the reasons why he had it that I am comfortable in suggesting he would be ok in leaving her.

Going AWOL would result in a "root and branch" investigation, it is possible that there is a desire to avoid this because a) There might be some awkward truths b) They believe he will return.

I do genuinely disagree, I think he had the apps because he enjoyed the attention without the commitment, just like the comments on his SM. Not saying he is shy but also not convinced that he is a) a playboy b) that these apps are about sex (Grindr is entirely different, but lets not go there...

His "footprint" includes being seen on CCTV, probably in a legitimate vehicle that will have passed ANPR cameras, mobile phone records (on his mum's phone) etc. I would actually say he has not done anything to suggest he hasn't absconded. It doesn't require you to be Jason Bourne to know not to...

This to me is more a case of making sure. She can't leave Suffolk without looking under every rock, no parent could.

Just to clarify, I was suggesting that he attempted to walk from BM to Barnham. He had previously been stationed there and would have been able to obtain a lift back to Honington or even just a bed. I have heard many stories of RAF guys walking this route to obtain "supplies" from the 24hour...

I don't think he is a player, he would not need all the hook-up apps if he was. I think he is probably too fragile for that as well. He strikes me as impulsive and somebody who gets swept up in emotion's. IMO N has brought him up better than to "leave A to it", not to mention the effect on his...

I've been mulling over things for a day or so and my theory regarding the announcement yesterday indicates to me that the main line of enquiry is that C has absconded with another person, with whom he was secretly romantically involved. My feeling is that A did not know about this person and N...

Spent a bit of time reflecting and I wonder if the release today was actually N having a last roll of the dice, maybe A didn't have any intention of releasing. It's compromised so much that I think it's an act of utter desperation.

I'm looking at a Barton Mills to Barnham misadventure.
