When the whole town has like five cops and dozens of backroads to get places, it’s not hard for me to believe he’s never had a DUI. Not to mention there’s not many places he needs to drive to, he might just stay home in a daze.

Highly likely imo but my bias in this is that I personally am one that will faint at the slightest unexpected pain. I swallowed a drink of water too hard a couple weeks ago and down I went.
