Australia AUSTRALIA - 4YO AUGUST (GUS) Missing from rural family home in Outback, Yunta, South Australia, 27th Sept 2025

I just don’t understand the release of photos and the public appeal for information. Gus went missing on a very isolated farm — who exactly are they appealing to that could possibly have seen or heard anything?

Why do you think parents release statement & more photos of Gus now … ??is it to prompt tips about the case ? Can’t help thinking that police might not have any leads

Yes, I agree with your point- usually the motive is to gain something or to avoid losing something. When it comes to a child, it’s hard to see what there would be to gain. It’s easier to consider what someone might have to lose — blame, criminal charges, responsibility for the death. I’m not...

I just can’t see someone covering that up. MOO - what is the motive for covering up ? Why do people cover up a crime ? Not wanting to be charged with crimimal Offence , Protecting loved ones , not losing custody , what else ?

I don’t think you would cover up an accident shooting and dispose of the body . Can’t help thinking you’d only cover it up if there was previous abuse/ harm / neglect . You might cover up to protect a loved one . Assuming there were only 3 people at the farm ( grandparents & mum ) one of them...

Australia AUSTRALIA - 4YO AUGUST (GUS) Missing from rural family home in Outback, Yunta, South Australia, 27th Sept 2025

Often, when someone lies about an “accident,” it raises the question of whether they are concealing something far more serious — such as ongoing abuse, criminal behaviour, or neglect — rather than a genuine mishap. In many tragic cases involving children, the person responsible is someone known...

So am I right in saying Gus & mum live at grandparents farm , and that Gus ‘s father didn’t live there ?

If Gus wandered off on his own, he’s likely not far from home —farms can be dangerous for a young child, with hazards like machinery, dams, and sheds. At just four years old, he might have been waiting for someone to arrive around 5 p.m. — his mum, dad, or grandad — and could have run off to...
