I hope they had good evidence collection. Modern advancements and genetic genealogy could finally solve this if they collected evidence properly and it was all kept.

I had a neighbor once who did that. He had no family by the time he married and he was very close to his wife's family so he took their name.

So much to unpack there. The surname, the FIL and the mother is all confusing. Such a tragedy for the survivors.

Keep the hope! My family in rural Vicksburg were told Sunday, but theirs came back on yesterday (Wednesday)!!! Like you, they are out in the woods surrounded by trees.

We have these kind of ice storms every few years here in Mississippi. Its just something we know can happen. The last really bad one was in '94.
