JMO - From what I understand, within my SO's Force at least, there is an emphasis on mental health and creating an honest an open culture. A lot of his Professional Development training is around this very subject inclusive of self care and the care of others which is so very positive.
Perhaps, as my SO is also ex armed forces, he didn't find it particularly hard or onerous. I guess the training can be subjective according to individuals.
I asked my LE SO about this (who has also served as a Fire Arms Officer) and he told me that they do Psychometric and other associated tests but nothing he considered to be too 'in-depth'.
