An update was posted on August 29th by the Jacksonville Police Department https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CkVFv329a/ His vehicle was located on 08/23/2025 in Grant County. Namus was updated with this too. He is still missing.

This would be a great case for modern sonar search teams, it doesn't appear any have taken it on yet even though there are a few based in Oregon. I tagged the ones I know of in a FB post for him. Today is the 43rd anniversary of his disappearance.

Thank you for sharing. Chaos Divers was just up there searching for him, they located another person missing since 2001 in Hodgkins IL the same way, also unexpected. This location Hiep was found isn't on the route to his work, I hope more answers are able to be found on why he was there :(

"His wallet was found in the Dearborn, Michigan area in 2001." (I'm guessing you meant 2021?) Have there been any attempts to locate him through the motorcycle, new registration, etc. or cell records? or do the police believe it's voluntary so they don't make those efforts? I hope he turns up safe.
