I agree with you that Xanax is not an issue here. Diane drank (how much we don't know) and she smoked pot (how much we don't know). I wonder if it is a rule, or perhaps should be a rule on this site, that you don't provide links to sales sites. I'm not not really sure it is appropriate to...

Unfortunately, Xanex is not hard to get. You can buy it online and have it shipped right to your home from any number of "pharmacy" sites. I don't know if she had any, but she could have gotten it fairly easily.

Today's laboratory tests are quite sophisticated and are advancing every day. I have worked with Pathologists and laboratory specialists for much of my career and will check with a couple MDs re the suggestion that Xanax is so close in chemical makeup to alcohol that it might not be detected in...

I had not heard this, but I do believe that she took a number of photos including one of all the kids smiling, on Saturday. Does someone know the answer to this?

[/B] Thank you Nova for another helpful post. I only have one concern with it and that is the use of the word "abandonment". We really don't know all the circumstances surrounding the departure of Diane's mother from the home. When there is a divorce, someone leaves and it isn't always...

Until I saw your comment about "Panic" I hadn't much considered the state of mind that the Hances might have been in while the calls were going back and forth. There has been some criticism, mainly by the Bastardi family, that Warren Hance knew Diane had a drinking problem and didn't call 911...

You have a point and the thing about the nieces talking about gramma is something to ponder. I don't really recall hearing or reading anything about the actual relationship between Diane and her mother. But, I had an impression they had one, although strained (don't recall how I got that)...

I don't know. Diane was said to have had a good relationship with her brothers and they each had a good relationship with her mother. Also, Diane knew her mother had visited her grandchildren (at least the children of the brothers) and they probably visited her. Even if Diane despised her...

Thanks. It wouldn't hurt all of us to remember once in a while that all the survivors of this tragedy - whether it was an accident, a terrible mistake, a tragic unraveling of a usually decent person, a drunk who finally made a fatal and deadly error, a suicide, a murder/suicide, whatever you...

I thought that might have been the case. I know I find it difficult some times to remember that although she was going South, no one else around her was! Thanks for acknowledging I was right. Don't wanna declare me right about everything else, do ya? :seeya:

You very well might be very familiar with the roads in that area, but not familiar enough to know that the exit that takes you to Briarcliff Manor IS the Pleasantville Road exit and on many maps is labeled as such. Check out the New York Times article "Anatomy of a Tragic Accident" - it...

Oh nuts, I was hoping to propose a little wager! Your posts are great and I hope to continue disabusing you of your impressions (unless you disabuse me first).

When I used the term "camp", it was only to describe the distinction between those who believe Diane did what she did purposfully and those who do not. There seems to be a clear delineation and perhaps that is what I should have said. I see your point rpd113, but the fact is that she was...

I understand your feeling, but no matter what route she took, she started going North of where she was supposed to be and turned around. I think she realized she was on the wrong road...you don't have to be cold sober to have something like that dawn on you especially if you take the same route...
