I have a probable update for this. Sadly, it's not the outcome anyone would want.
El Paso County Sheriff’s Office believes they’ve found the remains of missing 76-year-old
I found a free genealogy page that's just a list of data it pulled from public records. There's an entry for Leanne M Overstreet (born about 1969) having married August 1, 1988 in Harris County TX and then again on Feb 14 1993 in Hardin County TX. There's also an entry for Leanne and her first...
It's entirely possible that the rest of Amanda's body was left in Texas, horrible as that sounds. She disappeared in 2005, the Imers bought the house in Grand Junction in May of 2006. She may not have been missed in Colorado because she was never alive in Colorado.
According to the Mesa County property search, Bradley and Lea Imer bought the house May 12, 2006. There's some confusing deed stuff that happens that May that I think might be some kind of estate sorting out. The last name of Overstreet is not involved.

Be interesting to know if those former staff members remember anything about his disappearance.
Every time I drive by where Cheyenne Mesa used to be, I wonder what happened. Did he run away? (And, if so, why wasn't the treatment center in trouble for that? Do inpatient mental health centers...
This case has always bothered me. Even taking Cheyenne Mesa's story at face value - a treatment facility caring for a teen loses them and... that's it? That's horrifying. I hope someone eventually gets to the bottom of what happened.
As for why he was staying there, he had emotional and...
I don't know whether they were ever identified, but I work at the library, and I remember the police coming to get information - a library book or library card (I don't remember which) was found with the skeleton.
