I think he would've cleaned her side of the car excessively whether he was violent towards her in it or not. However, this guy was learning how to kidnap from fetlife, it wouldn't surprise anyone if there was a sort of BDSM-turned-bad element to it.
Also about the several terabytes - is this...
By the sounds of the current press conference as far as her family are aware YY is still missing, I don't know that it's ethical for LE to not tell them if they have her body... not to mention the fact they are prepared to spend all their money on finding her.,,
I was thinking about the half-truth of telling LE that YZ panicked when he took a wrong turn and so he let her out.
It made me wonder, perhaps there's more truth to that even still, perhaps he did let her out somewhere, very far away, and after subjecting her to whatever he wanted to do to her...
I really hope his family are getting the support they need, I'm sad that LE hasn't been able to give them enough information to give them closure. They're hanging on to any tenuous link it seems, even though the police don't throw around the terms like 'presumed dead' lightly.

Oh, I meant his admission while under surveillance, he told someone he did kidnap her and she struggled. I meant that if he thought they were listening at the time, why would he basically say it WAS non consensual, then plead the opposite in court? If he thought the FBI were onto him, he would...
Brendt is obviously either more stupid or more intelligent that I can give him credit for, I just wish I knew which one it was. It would really help in deciding how the crime played out. Was it the work of a mastermind, or a total buffon? Signs aren't pointing one way or the other! :(
It's really unusual that LE/FBI would try to get him to confess to someone at an event that he'd probably be most likely to NOT say anything incriminating. Sort of tells me they already had a good idea that he was the kind of deranged show-off that would get off on the attention.
Just a thought about that girl wearing a wire - how risky would that be given she was (apparently, who knows at this point) allowing him to be relatively touchy feely with her? Arm around her, hand holding - he seemed to be in a relatively intimate mood, if I were her, and wearing one, I'd be...
I'd be surprised if he told anyone other than the girl he was with at the vigil... no one else there would have taken that lying down! Plus I doubt he would have said these disgusting admissions within earshot of anyone else. So it's likely she plays a fairly big part in this.
Might explain that...
It was just my gut reaction. Seemed to lay it on a bit thick all things considered. I don't want to hear what a good guy he seems to be from someone who might have a vested interest at this time. From friends and people not employed by the University, I don't mind. I'm not saying the prof is...
