Been a long time, but due to all the new coverage I thought I'd pop back in.
I still think DocG has the most persuasive and simplest explanation of what happened.
Has Doc's theory received any interesting support or criticisms lately?
I took your post to mean you thought there was a motive that didn't involve a variant of fear. I agree JR needn't think JB was going to "tell" on him. But it seems likely to me that JR had some anxiety or guilt that led him to the act. (I'd consider guilt a close cousin to fear.)
So I was...
Well, if he wasn't afraid, then it was pure sadism, which seems unlikely. But if you have a motive that doesn't have to do with anxiety/fear/guilt/shame etc, please share.
All that was needed was JR being AFRAID that he'd be caught, found out, etc. Who knows what scared him? JB might have seemed sad and strange (we know she was crying a few days before and telling people she didn't feel pretty), JR might have been frightened that all the pediatrician visits would...
It is irrelevant when it cannot lead you to KNOW who committed a crime. And there is zero "behavioral evidence" that can be used to find PR guilty.
Behavioral analysis is used when it can AID an investigation. In this crime, it simply can't.
No, that plan didn't "fail" -- both the crime scene and the body were contaminated by JR's "discovering" JB and carrying her body upstairs, exposing it to others etc...
These theories where PR swings a flashlight and "misses" JR but hits JB are laughably melodramatic. They require a succession of absurd coincidences that are impossible to believe.
BUT -- let's assume that this happened. PR, in her own demented way, DEEPLY LOVED JB. I think she would have...
Why JR decided to find the body, after his original plan went awry, is simple:
Linda Arndt gave him an opening; he knew it would be found at some point; carrying the body up allowed him to contaminate the crime scene.
Spend some time with DocG's JDI theory. Actually, the killer's mind was quite rational: my daughter is going to tell on me for sexually abusing her, so I have to kill her and make it look like someone else did it. I also have to get rid of the body, so law enforcement can't be notified...
The neighbor who "heard" JB's scream later said it may not have been a scream but just a "negative energy" emanating from the house. The witness was inconsistent and a bit off her rocker. The "scream" is not evidence.
He had to stage -- if the body was ever found after he dumped it, it had to look like a foreign faction had killed her, brutalized her in a way consistent with the note.
If she just appeared to have died due to a head trauma, that wouldn't have seemed like the work of a "foreign faction."...
I find it stunning that the same people who are arguing that PR wiped down the outside and INSIDE of a flashlight also staged an entire crime scene while wearing her clothes from that evening, leaving evidence of her participation everywhere.
Got it.
So she never got undressed, killed her daughter, elaborately staged her, didn't change any clothing at all and called 911 and invited the cops in to her home. Got it.
