GUILTY Turkey - Sarai Sierra, 33, NY woman murdered, Istanbul, 21 Jan 2013 - #6

And if LE tells the world Z has disappeared into Syria or Iran and he is their "number one suspect," that means they will not pursue any other lines of inquiry. Anyway seems like everyone in here has lost interest. Did some other juicy case turn up?

GUILTY Turkey - Sarai Sierra, 33, NY woman murdered, Istanbul, 21 Jan 2013 - #6

So to recap: Z, a homeless trash collector with mental challenges, was warned by LE that he was about to be framed (by them presumably) for SS's murder. He manages to get from Istanbul to his relatives, borrows $60 or so, then manages to slip over the border to Syria or Iran, where he totally...

Just noticed Laura Wells, reporter based in Istanbul who has co-authored the Daily Mail's ongoing SS coverage, suggested yesterday on twitter that there may be some kind of "cover-up" involved. I have contacts get in hopes she will elaborate. I speculate maybe framing of Z in protection of...

And the winner of "Best Original Screenplay" goes to ThinkHard. Seriously, with all the wacky things about this case, this theory is not that much more far-Fetched than lots of others that have been discussed at length here.

Any evidence that Z was an accomplished discus thrower? Things are getting kind of batty in here!

Since the jewelry was found with the body I don't really understand the drawn out discussion re: selling good.

Where did this "SS communicating with Z via hand gestures" clue come from? Did someone was who was interviewed by LE say they saw them together?

Just about everyone I know here in NY keeps their phone locked. Lots of personal stuff on there. Plus you want to stick it to a criminal if they steal it -- ha - can't use it!

I don't think the theft of an ipad and a cell phone would be grounds for murder in a scenario where you then have to go on the lam to a foreign country.

Maybe the 9:20AM was sent time from Istanbul. Or maybe the family saw the text at 9:20AM, which is when they might have woken up? Anyone who has a Samsung Galaxy like SS's....can these phones be locked like an iPhone? I assume SS, being a New Yorker, would have locked her phone so that in...

Early on in the case, I was wondering how SS's body was identified, other than the visual ID by Steven Sierra. I have not seen mention anywhere of any DNA testing to confirm the body was her, either of material from her room in Istanbul or clothing or another item Steven may have brought from...

Hmm no one has anything to say? Truth be told, this random homeless guy scenario does not inspire the imagination as much as some of the other theories. I'd like to focus on photography since as a photographer that is how I got so interested in this case. And it seems now that it was probably...

She may not have felt that the iPad or phone was replaceable if it had all her photos on it and she had not backed them up on the cloud or elsewhere. That is always a great fear of mine when travelling. That memory dares with irreplaceable trip photos will be lost or stolen. Remember...

I was almost ready to go there but then couldn't figure how it all worked out! And now that Steven is back in NY and Ammer still in Amsterdam whole thing falls apart. But I may save it for my screenplay. Unless cloning involved...
