I think HONEYBUN1807 hit the nail on the head. Since no one is coming fwd w/ real info, it's all just speculation. The rotten smell coming from this case emanates from the friends. Scenario: Everybody in the group was so stoned out of their minds that no one really recalls anything accurately. "Uh, maybe she left. Maybe she called us.
