I found the missing pageant tape to be interesting. Did Tara simply use that as excuse to leave the party Saturday night so she could meet up with someone? Or could there be an unknown POI who might have had an affiliation with the pageant and was supposed to bring her the tape that evening?

She most certainly lied about having a family emergency, which gave her an excuse with school and her job(s) to leave for several days at the very least. I'm not of the opinion she planned to leave forever but you can't dispute she deceptively created a situation in which to leave town.

Other than the initial volunteer searches and the false lead at the creek a few years ago, can anyone name another incident since 2005 when LEO's obtained an actual search warrant?

I'm hopeful they recovered something useful. In 2011 they sent divers to a creek in Ocilla because someone was seen hanging around acting suspicious but nothing was found. Maybe this pond search is another knee jerk but I hope not. GBI is indicating something that corroborated the original tip...

Here is an important question: After receiving the credible tip would GBI automatically request a search warrant or might they first approach the landowner for permission to search/drain the pond? Just wondering if perhaps the landowner denied a request, prompting the search warrant?

According to WALB news in Albany the tip came in from a local farmer. No body was found but some evidence was recovered and they continue to sift through the mud and debris.
