    The Verdict Waiting Room #2

My opinion is that, if you have any one person (regardless of level of training) that is known to have the job of professional juror they are at great risk of being bribed or other form of corruption. Fresh jurors from the community for each new trial greatly reduces the risk of this happening...

    The Verdict Waiting Room #2

I believe that there may be greater risks of corruption and complacency with professional jurors. Currently jurors represent the common people. I believe that most people called to that duty will take it seriously and as it is outside their "normal" experience they may be less ho hum about it...

    The Verdict Waiting Room

Isis, I agree that a person can't rely on their spouse to have inner happiness. However, the other side is that if a persons partner is abusive in any way, no matter how intrinsically happy a person is, the person's peace, happiness and well being will be adversely effected. In a partnership as...

Is that the Defence Barrister checking his phone Possum? I am assuming the woman is just someone standing around waiting for the verdict like everyone else.

    The Verdict Waiting Room

A question for Alioop while we wait for justice. Why are the jury not allowed a transcript of the judges summary? It seems to be part of Qld law, but may be different in other parts of Australia. I am just curious about the rationale for this aspect of the law.

Yes, welcome back Greg. Whatever happened to Willough. I remember her being passionate for justice too.

    The Crown v Gerard Baden-Clay, 10th July - Trial Day 18

Alioop, why would the prosecution and defence teams both not want the jury not to have a written copy of the judges directions?

    The Crown v Gerard Baden-Clay, 9th July - Trial Day 17

The lack of plant material in the Captiva doesn't bother me. To me there are lots of potential scenarios to deal with this, assuming that Allison was transported to Kholo in the back of this car as the prosecution have alleged. Some ideas include that she was placed on a tarp in the back of the...
