She was found on National Forest Land. It would be the Forest Rangers job to search that area. I would think the PI got permission to search there.

Lousy reporting? It was in the National Forest which is on Federal Land so would have or should have been searched by Forest Rangers.

I know of a case where a missing mans remains were found and it was over a year before they received any results. But it could have been the stage of the remains. I don´t know.

Sometimes a week, sometimes a year or more.

It was found in less than an hour in what some say is an area that had been searched. It looks like the PI knew where to search.

The areas they have been searching is out of Moulton Police jurisdiction.

The husband isn´t missing. And it is not his grandchildren who read the police statement and may go through the rest of their life thinking they are stressors that added to her disappearance.
