When I asked for her dental records, I was told grandmother and aunt accidentally threw them out. Meanwhile though, her dental records from military have been produced to some agency to help with identification. Whew.

Incredibly eerie indeed. I don't know if they did indeed check. I was just told that my DNA would automatically get matched to new DNA samples when someone uploaded new DNA.

Yes. I was fortunate to have a medical examiner help me get my local police department involved so that I could create a missing person's report done (once I learned no one had ever taken the time to do that - don't get me started), and to get my DNA into CODIS. :)
