    Wasn't her race given as Caucasian. I agree that she may have been a farm girl. She had a ruddy complexion and scars which may have come from being outdoors, working outdoors etc

    Sure. It is believed BG was hitchhiking but that she had not been on the road long. She may have been an itinerant worker, someone who travelled to find work, or someone who spent time outdoors, as she had a ruddy complexion and several scars.

Her competition was ruddy, and she had several scars, so she may have worked outdoors/ spent alot of time outdoors, been an itinerant worker, physical labor,etc. She may have travelled a distance before she was killed.
