Here is my scenario of "what happened" -- and I have no idea if this would be self-defense, murder or manslaughter.
GZ was a wannabe cop. He was mad that so many robberies had been happening in his neighborhood. He also wanted to be a "hero."
He is on his way to Target wearing a loaded...
Speaking for myself (and who else WOULD I speak on behalf of?) -- I have not yet decided what happened in this case -- whether it was self-defense or an intentional act (2nd degree murder or manslaughter). IMHO I don't have enough information to make that "call" -- and perhaps never will...
Tricia, you are a hoot. Might I thank you for trying to keep the thread on track as well as the tone -- in a very polite way I might add!
Of course this is just my humble opinion!
She was 18 at the time -- and if memory serves she is still in high school and still living at home with her parents. To me this is a "kid."
Some people are mature younger, some are mature older. This is JMHO and my :twocents:
Have you ever heard the story that there is "his story, her...
I'm a bit more sympathetic to this kid. I think her reasoning that she didn't want to say certain things in front of Trayvon's mother that might hurt her makes sense to me. It also makes sense (to me) that if she is in a closet (???) on the phone she would want to make the call short and...
Not trying to judge anyone here, and definitely MHO, but I find it interesting that there are strong opinions on both sides when we simply don't have all the facts "in evidence" yet.
IMHO this whole thing is tragic -- for everyone involved. I think GZ looks drugged (and sleepy).
I don't know what happened -- but if GZ hadn't had that gun TM would be alive today. GZ says he was afraid for his life -- yet he KNEW that there were people in those homes all around him --...
It is almost impossible for the prosecution in Florida to "withhold evidence" for the simple reason that evidence is input into CJIS (criminal justic information systems) that are mandated by law, and link to the Florida justice system and in turn to the FBI. . .
Any evidence entered into...
True -- but the jury was also told that any mitigating circumstance had to OUT WEIGH the crime. In other words, Jodi being 27 -- is that greater or less important than stabbing Travis 29 times, slitting his throat and shooting him?
Mitigating circumstances aren't to be seen in a vacuum - they...
JA has been found guilty of 1st degree murder. There were aggravating circumstances. The worst is behind us -- we need to be thankful to this jury for their courage to date and trust in G-d.
Question.
Numri said the jury has to decide between death and Life in Prison -- JM objected but when they came back from sidebar Numri continued in same vein. . .
Can JM somehow let the jury know that Life in Prison may NOT be life in prison -- that if they go with LIP the judge can decide...
