Thank you for your concern, Shiressleuth, it was only 6.30pm and I'm a local girl, it's a really busy cut through and several people walked up and down when I was there, it truly wasn't scary. And yes, there are steps going up inside. I ccouldn't see how many doors were up there: at least one.

Yes I guess someone could fall off that wall, but walking from Looms Lane would bring you down the other side of the road, you'd have to deliberately cross over to get to it. You'd come down Looms Lane, turn right into Northgate Street, cross Northgate Street then turn left into Mustow Street...
