yes! My husband lived in Forest Hills Gardens for almost 40 years. Never once have I heard anyone refer to "Austin Street" as "Austin". It's not the same as "Lex, Houston, Broadway" etc.- sleuthlurk

Lurker here, but wanted to chime in. People who live in Queens/Forest Hills refer to "Austin Street" as "Austin Street". No one calls it Austin. Not unusual at all to call it Austin Street.- sleuthlurk
