I thought that in any kidnapping case where a death occurred it was possible to apply the death penalty? So I'm guessing BC has to be found guilty of kidnapping on a federal level, and then if LE can indict him with her death and should a jury find him guilty of that as well, he could get the...

He admitted to picking her up, therefore he is the last person to see her alive. He needs to prove he dropped her off where he said, the Feds don't need to prove he picked her up, they have a confession.

It could be movies he's downloaded related to the circumstances: abductions, etc. Maybe home made sex tapes... Stuff that would kind of paint a picture of who he is and what he'd be capable of to a jury, perhaps.

Why would she send the mom a birthday video if he's saying someone else's name? It makes more sense to remove the original recipient's name so that the mom could "feel" like it was JR's message to her, so to speak... I can see the person who sent it probably had their heart in a good place but...
