That Dr. could have done it I guess but, being an attractive lady, I'm sure she turned down dates from many guys.
Likewise, John Norman Collins' name comes up a lot including suspicions that he might have been the Boston Strangler!
The Vidocq Society is a collection of the same type of people...
I just learned something fascinating today-#9 and #10 are connected in crime history. Truman Capote, who wrote In Cold Blood after interviewing the Clutter Family murderers, was essentially kidnapped when he was 10 years old by a 16-year-old girl who had a strange romantic interest in him. That...
Some questions I'd like to know the answers to either to steer me in the right direction or, maybe more importantly, steer me away from the wrong direction:
Was Valerie at home on a Saturday night because she'd recently broken up with a boyfriend?
Did Valerie know any of the women who vanished...
Although it can't eliminated, I was never to excited about the abortion theory. No need for all three girls go as a group. Wouldn't one (probably Renee) have stayed behind to watch the car and their belongings?
Due to possible psychosocial dwarfism, I wouldn't be surprised if she was years older than 11.
Have Alton Coleman and Debra Brown been conclusively eliminated for this one?
Then there's her perceived reticence to give evidence against her attacker and this reminds me of two somewhat similar crimes.
In the Margery Wren murder, she refused to name her assailant before she died and some thought it was because he was someone who was very close to her.
And, the George...
I suppose she could have gotten a good enough look at her assailant to know their sex for sure.
Due to her field, I wonder if she ever ran up against the so-called Chicago Horse Marfia? Their name comes up in a lot of murderers in this region.
Also, her killer hit her aorta, a small target...
If she ever crossed paths with Maria or her roommates, I wonder if Lauri Wasserman Dann should be looked at. Her rampage was just weeks later in this same year and she was suspected of entering into her estranged husband's residence around 1986 and stabbing him with an ice pick.
Yes, because of Stella Nickell and Christiana Edmunds, I've always kept that possibility open. Although it was 6 years later, Dann did leave arsenic tainted food on the porches of people she once worked for during her rampage the culminated in the shooting.
I have a lot of questions about this case.
If there was a toddler about, why wasn't the basement door locked?
Is there any chance that Evelyn or the girl she was reportedly substituting for could have been pregnant?
Was this case the inspiration for the movie Halloween?
Did Evelyn ever read...
I assume the car was burned to destroy evidence such as dna or prints. About the only hope is that she decided to disappear for some reason. Probably a trucker like the unsolved Tammy Zywicki Case which is quite similar except she was found.
Getting back on topic; I suppose there could be a theoretical higher level.
Level 6: Cases so perfect that we don't even know they were murders (no example by definition)
The Edmund Duff death would have fit that level before others started dying and authorities wised up.
Do we know where Ted Bundy was on this date? He was a Republican campaigner sometimes.
I guess we're certain that it was actually Valerie who was killed?
I agree it didn't work for Ludke. Clarence Richeson did it to himself but didn't live long enough to see if it took. If Boston Corbett was the Ripper, it didn't work for him.
