It is true that he kept the murder weapon in his car - at least long enough to transport it from Ohio to Illinois. He didn’t toss it along the way. He practically handed the police more evidence to use against him. JMO

The weapon had to have been in his car for it to make it back to Illinois from the murder location in Ohio. He probably took it out of the car once he arrived home though. JMO
