I simply can't give any credence to the theory that he's gone AWOL in order to be with a love interest. Had this been the case, I am totally convinced that he would have left some kind of 'footprint' somewhere since disappearing. The thing thats always perplexed me in this case is the amount of food he bought at the takeaway prior to his disappearance.
