I don't see a link on the King 5 site yet, but Elisa Hahn reported tonight that John Reed attempted to cash a $96,000 check at a bank in Ellensburg last week. I missed the details, but it sounds like there is reason to believe they may have had $14,000 with them.

Probably not a whole lot. He will show up, plead not guilty and they will set a trial date. Since he is in custody, the trial date will be set within 60 days but in all likelihood, the trial will not happen that quickly in a case like this.

The property is on the edge of a major mudslide that happened two years ago and was purchased by the county so there wouldn't have been new owners to live in the home. I would assume it would be really easy for the Reeds (or anyone) to continue to come and go.

Long, LONG time lurker.... Springdale looks to be close to Idaho. Also, some have suggested a militia connection and from what I've read, sparsely populated areas of Eastern Washington and Idaho seem popular for those groups. Those are two separate thoughts - I have no reason to suggest that...
