GUILTY VA - Capt. Kevin Quick, 45, abducted & murdered, Afton, 31 Jan 2014

I recall that the police questioned a person at a BP station very close to Quick's girlfriend's apartment. Maybe he stopped for gas and that's where they carjacked him???

Reading quickly through the indictment, they have these guys on a slew of other robberies in the central Virginia area. I think they've got them on federal RICO charges too, though I'm not very good with all the legal citations in the indictment.

Hi sallye818 - I wondered the same thing. She's mentioned (along with WRIGHT, STOKES and WHITE) in count 28 of the indictment for: IIRC, she was in the second? batch of arrests, made in Prince William county/Manassas, along with Wright and Stokes. Manassas is where the 2nd ATM withdrawal...

ALL of those are great points - thank you for raising them! IMHO, the single most effective protective thing we can do is to develop our situational awareness skills. That's what intothedeep is talking about in the above quote. Everytime I see some kid walking down the street with...

When I attempt to fish moving water, all I ever catch is...rocks...sticks...trash bags...six pack rings...etc etc. I should be a major stockholder in Rapala and Betts by now. I'm more of a bobber and worm kinda girl.

My temps are probably a little low. NOAA says the average ocean temps at Myrtle Beach this past December and January were 53 and 48 degrees, respectively. Not sure if that means the river temps would be higher, lower, or about the same. http://www.nodc.noaa.gov/dsdt/cwtg/satl.html

You're not stupid; you're observant. :) The Waccamaw is a tidal river in it's lower reaches, so sometimes the water moves 'upriver'. Or maybe it could just be the wind blowing the surface upriver in that particular shot.

At the beginning of this segment of the thread (post #4), OkieGranny has some nice maps posted where you can see the river, then where it joins the Intracoastal Waterway. The ICW has many connections over to the ocean.

Hmmm...interesting. If that is PTL, then that is either a rising tide, or a strong wind blowing upriver (note Spanish moss moving in the trees).
